Puerto Rico Day 4 Recap

We started off Day 4 nice and early. It was an hour drive to get to the marina for our excision and we had to be there by 7:30am. Through multiple texts and calls Sail Getaways made it very clear if you were late, they could not hold the boat for you and you would miss the trip. We made it… but let’s just say not a lot of points were passed out until much later that day.

The boat ride to Culebra was a little rough but we survived. The good news is Queen Bee heeded Moose’s advice and purchased and wore the anti-motion sickness glasses Moose had recommended. They may not have been stylish but wearing really weird glasses and NOT getting sea sick beats refusing to wear them and puking all over the boat.

We arrived at the island of Culebra and snorkeled along the reef for an hour before adjourning back to the boat for lunch and drinks. Bobby Newport got his money’s worth in rum drinks before 1pm.

Then it was off to Flamenco Beach. We swam, soaked up some sun, and explored abandoned Sherman tanks along the beach left behind from when the island was used by the Navy as a bombing range.

After a couple more hours on Culebra island we headed back to the marina. We made a quick stop at Ralph’s for dinner supples. Trudy called an audible we ended up making tacos back at Pancho’s Paradise and decided to save Shady Keith’s famous spaghetti for another night.

The rest of the evening was just relaxing along with Honey Badger’s failed attempt to make homemade banana chips to feed Pancho, the red macaw. We settled for feeding the chickens and their chicks store bought corn chips instead.

Points totals have been going up for everyone. More so for Bobby Newport and Chief yesterday due to their enthusiasm and lack of shame for recreating the Titanic scene and other tomfoolery that Moose found entertaining.
